Become a Darby's Dance Partner!
Our Darby's Dance Partners (aka Volunteers), are a vital part of our Darby's Dancers program here at HKSD.
Many colleges require volunteer hours of community work and this is a great way for young people to obtain these hours. Our volunteers and students form close relationships. There is no limit to the bonds they form. It requires a commitment on the part of the Partner to be present each week with their dancer and at any dance opportunities that may present themselves.
A Darby's Dance Partner assists their dancer in many ways including:
- Sharing their love of dance with another dancer
- Provide one-on-one support to their dancer
- Help their dancer learn, grow and thrive
- Be their dancer's arms and feet if needed
- Model dance steps and help their dancer gain independence in mastering the steps and movements
HKSD Darby's Dance Partner Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 12 yrs old
- Commitment to attend every class and performance opportunity with their dancer
- Assist your dancer with body movement if/when necessary
- Attend DD Partner training
